Fir Tree

Fir tree, fir tree, fur tree
Does not look warm to me

I bring it inside and dress it up

Babbles of gold and silver
Memories from long ago
Twinkle, twinkle, bright warm lights
And a pretty little star on top

A skirt around its base
And a cat in its branches

The fir tree looks furry to me

Poinsettias
By Christina Roser

Poinsettias

(Red poison) in the snow

Flakes falling from the sky

to sit upon the poison berries

glist’ning in the blinding blanket of cold.
