Wisdom and Wondering

Pagaent
By Anni Macht Gibson

A sheep cries
and runs for mommy
in the seventh pew.

Mary cradles the baby,
a Cabbage Patch
Jesus that’s seen
better days.

Three wise men
ages 6, 7, 8,
bring gifts.
wondering about
“frank and
cents” and “murr.”

A choir of angels
sings “Away in
the Manger”
tinsel halos
tilting askew.

Grandmas beam,
Dad’s snap masterpieces,
as younger sibs squall
God’s joyful noise.

The miracle of the Saviour’s birth
abides these 2000 years.
