Daily Sabbath
By Heather McCuen Dearmon

Upon entering your realm
My senses wither--
I am numb, blind, deaf, mute:
A naked corpse
At the base of your altar.

This is our meeting place,
Our holy communion
Where we speak
Without mouths
The tongues of angels--
Your voice flooding
The pocket in my spirit,
Flowing over
Into all my limbs.

I wax golden--
A harmonious being
Thriving with senses
Beyond the planes of earth.

In your palms
You twist me,
Braiding my flesh,
My heart, my will,
With yours.

I am now transmuted--
A crown upon
Your brow. ©2005 Heather McCuen Dearmon

Hiding Place
By Heather McCuen Dearmon

Lovely one,
Let me in through your window
And crawl into your hiding place.

You are all in my nothing,
A promise I nearly forgot.

Cherished love,
Let me in through your eyes,
Coax and thrill all the wonders
That vibrate my soul.

I long to curl up
In your hiding place
And pray with you.

I want to enter all the joy and sorrow
Within your eyes.

Soft and lovely,
The song in your arms.

Let me sing with you. ©2005 Heather McCuen Dearmon
