Epiphanies
By Dot Robinson

Middleeast BuildingThe Magi followed the light
Of the star that shone so bright.
They worshipped a babe who was to be
The Light of the World for all to see.
By a vision they were led to leave,
Having seen, they did believe.

In the temple day and night
God’s servant Simeon awaited the light.
Revealed to him in flesh and blood,
He knew had seen the glory of God.
Anna, too, had a revelation
Of the Child’s gift of salvation.

Jesus asked, “Who do you say I am?’
Was He a prophet, a king, a man?
Peter’s insight was born of belief-
“You are the Messiah”, bringing relief
To a needy, hurting world-
The living breathing Word.

Saul was a murder, a man of power;
Christians feared him and did cower.
But Saul encountered a holy light
That left him blind for three nights.
God filled Saul with the Holy Spirit
And with a message of hope for all to hear it.

I, too, have seen the glorious light
Which shines in my heart oh, so bright.
This Light is one I joyfully carry.
It is urgent that I must not tarry
In spreading the light which I’ve been given
To lead others to know the Prince of Heaven.
