Passionate Pet
By Arley

Two Children EatingSomething I’ve always wondered about humans is why many aren’t more passionate about life and about doing what they like to do. We animals sure are!

Bunnies, for example, are definitely passionate creatures! We fervently rip up paper. We zealously lick special others. We excitedly dig at towels. We delightfully melt and relax to be petted. We fanatically run down the hallway. We joyfully jump as high as we can. And we blissfully flop onto our sides afterward. Whatever we do, we do it passionately. We live!

Before my mom adopted me recently, I was stuck in a small cage—no toys to play with, no room to run around, no yummy treats to eat. Let me tell you, I have since made up for that time! I’ve realized how much life really has to offer. There are wonderful people who love us when we let them. There are abundant fun things to do when we use our imagination. There are lots of fantastic carrot-type treats when we beg hard enough for them.

We have only a certain amount of time on Earth to enjoy these things God has provided us with. Why do something if we’re not going to give it our all? Why do anything half-heartedly? Is it truly enjoyment if we don’t enjoy something as much as it can be enjoyed? Is it truly fun if we limit the fun we can have? Is it truly love if we have to hold back the amount we give and accept?

Is it truly life if we don’t live it to its fullest?
