Grace
By Anni Macht Gibson

PearsBecause. Just because.
Delving deep into the soul,
lifting my countenance to You,

You are there for the feast
and laden darkness
that inevitably follows.

You are there in layered
folds of defense curtaining
otherwise open wounds,

in the spongy umber loam
of the forest floor, trod
by muskrats, does and weasel.

Nothing I create or do not
is unworthy. This grace beams
upon me in my ineptitude

and brilliance alike. So,
grateful, I soak up Your sun,
weak in the knees for Your love.

Because. Just because.
