ArchivesA Comforted CottontailBy Amy Bremers Hi! My name is Beany. I am black and a little chubby. I have long ears, and I tend to molt every few months for some odd reason. My favorite food is kale and also banana, even if I only get a little of that each day. If you pet me, I will probably kiss you up and down your arm. I am one happy bunny, literally. My mom rescued me. I was living in this horrible, tiny, outside place where I was ignored, got loose, ran around in broken glass, and almost died. My mom caught me, cuddled me in her arms, and promised to give me love and a permanent home. In my home, my mom feeds me, pets me, talks to me, cleans my litter box, lets me be myself, and gives me a quiet, cool place to rest. She also brushes out my molting fur and takes me to the doctor. I don’t really enjoy those things, but I know my mom does them for my own good. I know that my mom will always take care of me, treat me well, and love me no matter what. And I don’t have to do anything. She loves me because I am her child and I’m me. I can rest easily, never having to worry or fight for my life again because I know that I am loved. My mom reminds me of God. “The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to keep still,” says Exodus 14:14. God rescues us from whatever horrible place we’re in, holds us in his arms, heals us, makes sure we have enough to eat, and lets us talk to him. God promises to love us no matter what and gives us an eternal home. We don’t have to worry because we can know that God is always taking care of us, just as I know my mom will always love and take care of me. I can trust on her to be there for me every day, just as God is always there for us, taking our burdens onto Himself so that we may rest in His strength. ©2006 Amy Bremers | View
